In 2019 Newcrest made a commitment to improve their website. The website needed to transition from an out-dated user interface and cumbersome platform to something that engages and inspires both internal and external audiences. Newcrest placed equal importance on a solution that was a best-in-class user experience (UX) underpinned by a robust technology platform.
Designate re-imagined the Newcrest corporate website’s user experience with a complete transformation of the information architecture, responsive interface design and an improved back-end CMS system and workflow. A rigorous approach was taken in the discovery phase, in order to gain a deep understanding of the business requirements and identify opportunities.
To deliver a seamless, sophisticated experience we developed a rapid prototype approach to ensure every design element was thoroughly considered and tested across all devices. The information architecture was informed by the content marketing strategy, user research and best practice guidelines through collaborative workshops.
A powerful combination of Pantheon and Drupal 8 provided Newcrest with a scalable and secure hosting platform supported by a leading open-source CMS designed for ambitious digital experiences. And whilst the compact project timeline put our expertise and agile management skills to the test, every milestone was met. Beyond launch we invested in CMS training and developed a support framework designed to empower the business, providing Newcrest with the confidence to manage the website on a daily basis with additional security and support provided by Designate.
